# Shopify POS Integration

> Install Vero on Shopify POS and your Shopify online store

## Overview

Vero integrates with Shopify to automatically deliver encrypted, itemized digital receipts to your customers' banking apps. It covers orders from Shopify POS and your online store. Setup takes less than a minute.

## Quick Start

    If prompted, enter your store's `.myshopify.com` domain (for example, `your-store.myshopify.com`).

    Ensure you are logged in to your Shopify admin, review the requested permissions, and click **Install**.

    That's it. Vero automatically sends encrypted receipts for all orders to customers whose banks support digital receipts.

## Required Permissions

Vero requests read-only access to the following Shopify data:

* **View store data: Orders** - Order totals, taxes, discounts and timestamps
* **View store data: Products** - Itemized receipt data (product titles, variants and SKUs)
* **View customer data** - Shopify grants this with order access, since orders carry customer details
* **View staff and contributor data** - Shopify grants this with order access to identify the store owner

Vero never edits your store. You can confirm this under **Settings > Apps > Vero Receipts** in your Shopify admin, where Orders and Products show **View** access only.

## Data Structure

When an order is created or updated, Vero receives the following data from Shopify:

This data is immediately encrypted and transmitted to participating banks for delivery to customers.

## Privacy & Security

**Your transaction data is never exposed.** All receipt data is encrypted using RSA-2048 encryption before leaving your Shopify store. Only your customers hold the private keys to decrypt their own receipts.

* Vero cannot read your transaction data
* Banks cannot read your transaction data
* Only the customer who made the purchase can decrypt their receipt

Transaction data is encrypted client-side and transmitted directly to the customer's bank in encrypted form. No intermediary ever has access to unencrypted receipt information.

## FAQ

  <Accordion title="Does this cost anything?">
    No. Vero is completely free for merchants. Banks pay for the service because digital receipts reduce their fraud dispute costs.

  <Accordion title="Does this replace email/SMS receipts?">
    No. Vero receipts are in **addition** to your existing receipt methods. Customers still get Shopify's order confirmation emails and printed receipts. Vero sends an encrypted copy to their bank.

  <Accordion title="Do customers need to do anything?">
    Customers must have:

    1. A card from a Vero-enabled issuer
    2. Digital receipts enabled in their banking app

    If either condition isn't met, they won't receive Vero receipts (but will still get email/paper receipts).

  <Accordion title="Will my customers know receipts are coming from my business?">
    Yes. Your store name from your Shopify store settings appears on all digital receipts.

  <Accordion title="Can I see what customers see?">
    No - receipts are encrypted with each customer's private key. Only they can decrypt and view the receipt in their banking app. You can see delivery confirmation but not the decrypted content.

  <Accordion title="Does this work for both in-store and online orders?">
    Yes! The integration works for:

    * In-person Shopify POS sales
    * Online Store checkout
    * Orders from other Shopify sales channels

    Any card-present or card-not-present order sends a Vero receipt.

  <Accordion title="I have more than one Shopify store. Can I connect them all?">
    Yes. Install the Vero plugin once per store. Each store can be connected to only one Vero account.

    Yes. In your Shopify admin, go to **Settings > Apps > Vero Receipts** and click **Uninstall app**. You can also disconnect from the **Integrations** page of your Vero merchant dashboard.

    Digital receipts typically appear in customers' banking apps within seconds of checkout.
